The incumbent Punjab Governor, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan belongs to Attock district. He has also served as a former federal minister and Special Assistant to PM for Overseas Pakistanis. Apart from this, he is also the President of Pakistan People's Party Rawalpindi Division. He has also been the Minister of State for Defense.

Political Career
He was elected MNA from NA-59 from Attock in 2008. He received his primary education from the Boarding School, Tala Gang. After matriculation from Sir Syed School Talagang, he graduated from Government College Satellite Town Rawalpindi. He started participating in politics from his college days and was elected president of the Muslim Student Federation three times. After graduating from college, he joined practical politics in 1997. He participated in the elections for the first time as a member of the District Council on the ticket of the People's Party and defeated Sardar Zafar Iqbal of Jhandial. He also became the Nazim of the Union Council in the 2002 local body elections. In the 2003 elections, he contested the provincial assembly election on the People's Party ticket, but lost to Colonel Anwar of the Q-League. In 2008, he became a member of the National Assembly on the People's Party ticket and was made the Minister of State for Defense Production. During the 16-month government of PDM, he was the advisor to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis. Sardar Saleem Haider Khan took oath as the Governor of Punjab province on 10 May 2024.
